Move from unmanaged VPS to complete server care

At your next renewal, hand the patching, monitoring, backups and out-of-hours worry to our team. Same server, same applications, same data — you just stop being the one on call.

  • Same server
  • Same applications and data
  • No rebuild required

Same box, different responsibility

What stays the same, and what Webdev takes over

Stays exactly as it is

  • Your server, its specification and its IP address.
  • Your applications, databases and data, untouched.
  • Your domains, DNS and email routing.
  • Your account, billing and ZIMRA fiscal invoicing.

Webdev takes over

  • Operating system patching and security updates.
  • Monitoring, with alerts coming to us instead of to you.
  • Backups, retention and doing the restore when it is needed.
  • Incident response, under a local SLA and in local hours.

Same server. Same workload. Someone else holding the pager.

Is Managed VPS the right upgrade?

Unmanaged VPS today

  • You patch the operating system and keep track of what needs updating.
  • You notice the outage, usually because a customer told you.
  • You own the backup strategy, and the restore when it matters.
  • Server knowledge sits with one person — and their leave dates.

With Managed VPS

  • Patching runs on a schedule we own and report on.
  • Monitoring alerts reach our team, not your phone at 2am.
  • Backups are configured, tested and restorable by us.
  • A local team holds the knowledge, so it survives staff changes.

Managed care around your VPS

  • Proactive monitoring

CPU, memory, disk and service checks running continuously, with alerts to our team.

  • Security and patching

Operating system and package updates applied on a schedule, with firewall rules maintained.

  • Managed backups

Scheduled backups kept off the server, with restores handled by us when you need one.

  • Performance oversight

We watch how the server is coping and tell you before you run out of headroom.

  • Incident response

When something breaks, our engineers work the problem under a local SLA.

  • Local specialists

Zimbabwe-based engineers on Harare and Bulawayo time, not a distant queue.

Not sure which level your server needs? Ask us to assess it and recommend one →

You don't have to be the one who fixes it at 2am

Whether it's the weekly patching or the rare middle-of-the-night incident, moving to Managed VPS puts that responsibility with our team.

Paced by your renewal

How your Managed VPS upgrade works

  1. We assess your server

We review the operating system, workload and current state, and flag anything to sort out first.

  2. We agree the plan and timing

We recommend a level of cover and line the change up with your renewal.

  3. We onboard the server

Monitoring, patch schedules and backups are put in place. Your applications keep running.

  4. We take the alerts

From then on the monitoring reaches us first, and you have a local team to call.

Nothing is changed on your server until we have agreed the plan and the window with you.

Is this the right level for you?

A strong fit if…

  • You already run a VPS with us and it does its job.
  • Server administration is nobody's actual job internally.
  • An outage would cost you real money or real reputation.
  • You want one accountable team rather than a single internal expert.

Need more scale, or a dedicated solution?

  • You have outgrown a single VPS and need dedicated infrastructure.
  • You need compliance-grade hosting with a bespoke specification.
  • You need a named account team and a formal service agreement.

Questions before you switch?

Do I need to move to a different server?

No. Managed VPS is a change to how your existing server is looked after, not a move to a new one. Your specification, IP address, applications and data stay where they are.

Do I keep root access?

Yes, unless you ask us to lock it down. We do ask that significant changes are agreed with us, so our monitoring and patching don't conflict with something you have configured by hand.

Will there be downtime during the changeover?

Onboarding is mostly configuration around your server rather than to it, so in normal cases your applications keep running. Where a reboot is needed — for example after kernel patching — we agree the window with you in advance rather than picking one ourselves.

What if my server has been neglected for a while?

That's common and it's not a problem. We assess it first and tell you what needs bringing up to date. If remedial work is needed before the plan starts, we quote it separately so you can see what is catch-up and what is ongoing.

Who is on the other end when something breaks?

Our Zimbabwe-based engineers, working local hours under a local SLA. You are not raising a ticket into an overseas queue and waiting for a timezone to wake up.

Is this required at renewal?

No. You can continue on an unmanaged VPS. Most customers move because the cost of one bad incident — or of a key person leaving — outweighs the monthly difference.

What will it cost?

The anchors above show the starting point for each plan. Your exact figure depends on the server's size and workload, and we confirm it in writing after assessing it.
